Jeremy Tanner, MD

Assistant Professor at the Biggs Institute at UT Health San Antonio

Jeremy Tanner, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at UT Health San Antonio. Dr. Tanner completed his neurology residency training as the Chief Resident at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), followed by fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center.
At the Biggs Institute, Dr. Tanner provides care for patients and families impacted by various neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive disorders. He strives to deliver the highest possible quality of care, inspired by the experience he and his family had while caring for a relative affected by Alzheimer’s disease. He also leads multidisciplinary clinics to provide comprehensive care for patients and families affected by Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) and early-onset dementia (typically those with symptoms onset before age 65 or with a known genetic cause).
Dr. Tanner’s research broadly focuses on the clinical translation and use of biomarkers to improve early detection, accurate diagnosis, and care for families affected by neurodegenerative diseases. He is also engaged in global neurology and using biomarkers to enhance care in resource-limited settings.
