Administrative Core

Background

The Administrative Core, as the overarching leadership and governance for the South Texas Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, is committed to leading the center’s initiatives. It focuses on training and supporting innovative research approaches, with a particular emphasis on minimizing health disparities. This commitment to equity and inclusivity is at the heart of our work.

The Administrative Core is the comprehensive administrative hub for each core. It serves as the central resource for a wide range of functions, including financial review, human resources management, contract management, grants management and data/biospecimen /resources sharing.

  • Aims

    • Direct the overall strategy of the research center.
    • Evaluate, fund, and supervise innovative Alzheimer’s research projects in collaboration with the Research Education Core.
    • Act as the central administrative hub for the center.
    • Foster collaboration at national, state, and regional levels.
    • Participate in state, university, and philanthropic initiatives while seeking public and private partnerships.
    • Position the center as the leading Alzheimer’s resource in Texas.
